Temporal Convolution Based Action Proposal: Submission to ActivityNet 2017
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this notebook paper, we describe our approach in the submission to the temporal action proposal (task 3) and temporal action localization (task 4) of ActivityNet Challenge hosted at CVPR 2017. Since the accuracy in action classification task is already very high (nearly 90% in ActivityNet dataset), we believe that the main bottleneck for temporal action localization is the quality of action proposals. Therefore, we mainly focus on the temporal action proposal task and propose a new proposal model based on temporal convolutional network. Our approach achieves the state-ofthe-art performances on both temporal action proposal task and temporal action localization task.

Untrimmed Video Classification for Activity Detection: submission to ActivityNet Challenge
Current state-of-the-art human activity recognition is focused on the classification of temporally trimmed videos in which only one action occurs per frame. We propose a simple, yet effective, method for the temporal detection of activities in temporally untrimmed videos with the help of untrimmed classification. Firstly, our model predicts the top k labels for each untrimmed video by analysing...
متن کاملTemporal Segment Networks for Action Recognition in Videos
Deep convolutional networks have achieved great success for image recognition. However, for action recognition in videos, their advantage over traditional methods is not so evident. We present a general and flexible video-level framework for learning action models in videos. This method, called temporal segment network (TSN), aims to model long-range temporal structures with a new segment-based...
متن کاملA Pursuit of Temporal Accuracy in General Activity Detection
Detecting activities in untrimmed videos is an important but challenging task. The performance of existing methods remains unsatisfactory, e.g. they often meet difficulties in locating the beginning and end of a long complex action. In this paper, we propose a generic framework that can accurately detect a wide variety of activities from untrimmed videos. Our first contribution is a novel propo...
متن کاملUC Merced Submission to the ActivityNet Challenge 2016
This notebook paper describes our system for the untrimmed classification task in the ActivityNet challenge 2016. We investigate multiple state-of-the-art approaches for action recognition in long, untrimmed videos. We exploit hand-crafted motion boundary histogram features as well feature activations from deep networks such as VGG16, GoogLeNet, and C3D. These features are separately fed to lin...
متن کاملCS 231N Final Report: Single-Stream Action Proposals in Videos
Video understanding is a subject of high interest that has many applications such as human-robot interaction or selfdriving cars. Temporal action proposals consist to produce temporal segments that are likely to contain an action of interest. This is very important for any video related task since it allows to focus on the temporal segments that contain important information. Single-Stream Temp...
